When life gets busy, regular language classes are not always possible. This is where MedEnglish weekly come in, letting you learn anytime, anywhere and at your own pace.
Each month, I select an interesting medical story and create a set of weekly self-study language lessons based on it. By exploring the story's language through carefully designed exercises, you will naturally expand your vocabulary, reinforce key grammar, and strengthen your four core skills, reading, listening, speaking and writing.
As your language skills grow, so will your confidence, helping you move steadily towards the next proficiency level.
And here’s another bonus: by learning through medical stories, you build your language skills while staying informed about what’s happening in medicine. And since medicine is always moving forward, you’ll never run out of new and engaging stories to learn from. Not bad, right?
MedEnglish weekly is designed for busy health professionals and medical students who want flexibility without losing focus.
Total flexibility: study at your own pace, anytime and anywhere.
Smart learning: develop your language skills through real-world medical stories chosen for their professional relevance.
Risk free: start with a one-month free trial. If you find the materials useful, you can continue your regular practice for an affordable subscription fee.
Strong core language skills matter at every level, not only for beginners. They form the foundation of all your English abilities. When your core skills improve, your fluency and accuracy grow too, helping you understand complex texts and conversations and communicate with confidence.

A: The MedEnglish weekly study materials work for every level of English. The main lessons are set at an intermediate level, which is what you usually need for professional exams like the OET.
If your English is at a pre-intermediate level, you can still use these materials. Just use a translation tool to help you. This method, called translanguaging, means you use your own language to help you learn English—making it easier to understand, remember, and use new words.
If you are an advanced learner, you can take it further. Most lessons include links to the original articles or resources they are based on. You can explore these to see more complex vocabulary and grammar as they are used in real medical writing. Where possible, I will also include a separate activity designed specifically for advanced learners within the lesson.
A: I understand the frustration. You are not alone. Often the problem is not you, it is the method. Many Medical English textbooks and courses rely on word lists and abstract grammar rules taught in isolation. Without real context, these words and rules are hard to remember and even harder to use when you need them.
This is the exact problem MedEnglish weekly aims to solve. By learning through real medical stories, you can see vocabulary and grammar used together naturally (in real context). This helps you understand and, most importantly, remember the right words when you need to speak or write.

Consider turning key vocabulary and grammar practice activities from your lesson into flashcards, paper or digital.
If you go for digital flash cards, pick an app with spaced repetition. This is a method that schedules reviews at the specific time to lock words into your long-term memory, making studying more efficient.
Do not worry if the lessons feel challenging at first. This is completely normal. Feel free to use translation tools or bilingual dictionaries to support your understanding. Using them is not a weakness but a smart learning strategy that helps you build confidence and gradually rely less on translation over time.
Practise your speaking skills in a supportive group setting. Choose from a variety of clubs for like-minded learners pursuing similar goals, or start your own group with friends or colleagues.
